Treatment for Concussion Management

It’s not all in your head.

Most concussions recover quickly by themselves but for those that don't, you should consult a physiotherapist with concussion expertise.

Physiotherapy treatment can help with many of the persistent symptoms of:

  • headache and neck pain

  • dizziness

  • balance problems

  • low energy levels and fatigue

  • difficulty multitasking and other functional impairments

  • increased sensitivity to light, sound, noise

... and help you return to work, school, sport and play!

Your physiotherapist will create a unique treatment plan that takes into account your needs and challenges. Your physiotherapist will also work with other members of your health team to make sure you are getting the care you need.

Your physiotherapy treatments may include:

  • a gradual exercise program based on your symptoms

  • neck exercises and manual therapy

  • advice and education on what you can do yourself

  • relaxation therapy, breathing exercises

  • vestibular rehab and dizziness treatment

  • balance exercises

  • vision exercises
